Pixlr

I experimented with a lot of the different options on Pixlr.  It was a lot of fun changing the colors, taking away the colors, adding borders, back grounds and so many more things. The first picture I did was one where I took some of the color out and added different borders.  It isn't one I would normally use but I wanted to add it because it shows a lot of the different options.  I have never used a photo editing program and Pixlr was very user friendly.  I will use this again!

On the second one I added more color, a different background and words.

Emaze

I think Emaze was one of my most favorite sites to use!  I think this is an amazing tool for teaching any concept or subject.  I think most kids would be very interesting in learning about anything, in this type of way.  Because it changes pictures and ideas so often, I don't think they would get bored and would even look forward to the next slide that would be coming up.  I will for sure use this in my own class!Powered by emaze

Thinglink

Thinglink was so much fun to use!  I think it is a great tool to use in the classroom.  It is very interactive and I think kids would enjoy a different way of learning.  I have enjoyed learning new and creative ways to present classroom concepts.  I know I will use Thinglink in my classroom and even in my home to teach concepts that could get boring.  This offers an exciting way to learn routine curriculum.

Storybird

It was a lot of fun working in Storybird and I would definitely use it again. I think as a teacher I could create stories for my classes to read or have students write their own stories to read to each other. I loved all the art work and different examples they had to look at. I think I will even use this at home to create stories for and with my daughter.

Mind Mapping

I really liked using Popplet and think it would be a great tool to use in the classroom.  I have never seen it used before and I think it would be something different for the kids also.  It using a unique way of teaching and I think it would be a fun way to learn any subject.  I am going to do a little more experimenting with it because I am sure there are a lot of functions that I have not even found out about.

Google Slides

I LOVED working with Google Slides!  I have never used it before and once I figured things out, it was a lot of fun to put a presentation together.  My 18 year old son gave me some pointers on what would get the student's attention and how to make things more presentable. I will definitely use this in my classroom!

Pinterest

I have used Pinterest for about 3 years now, getting ideas for my daughters birthday parties, landscaping ideas, organization ideas and pretty much anything I could think of.  When I decided to go back to school to get my Elementary Education degree, a few months ago, I thought about getting on Pinterest to get some ideas for when I start teaching. I never did though so I am glad we had this assignment so I would finally start a board for when I get my degree, hopefully in two years or less.
There are so many great ideas for organizing the classroom, tips for new teachers, bulletin board ideas, ideas to get your students attention and so many more things to help in the classroom.  I am excited to keep adding things to my board.

Here is the link to my board:

Google Docs

I am getting more familiar with using Google Docs so it is a a little easier to use.  It was fun learning new functions to make an information page for parents, adding tables to a document, getting new fonts and other new features that I found out about while creating my document.  This would be a great tool for teachers and other educators to collaborate with each other on their different ideas when making a document that they wanted to get other's ideas on.

Newsletter

After working on my Flyer in Lucid Press I decided to finish a Newsletter in the same program.  I was a little more familiar with the program so it was a little bit easier to navigate through everything. It was fun trying new fonts, formats, text boxes and pictures.  I used the template and was able to keep some of their ideas but changed up quite a few things. I think the newsletter is a great idea for a school as a whole or even for a teacher that wants to send out a newsletter to her students, before school starts.
My daughter's school sends out a newsletter every month. It used to be a paper copy but they have transitioned to a digital copy.  I think it is a great way to let parents and students know what is going on at the school and have a copy that can be viewed over and over and not throw away because it gets misplaced.  I  love learning new ways to use technological resources that I will be able to use in my classroom.

Flyer

I was a little nervous about creating a flyer so I put it off for awhile. I used Lucid Press and started working on several flyers without getting too far. It was a little intimidating, learning a new program and how to navigate it. Finally, I decided to jump in and finish the project.  Once I got going and had an idea of what I wanted to do, it started coming together.  I tried out different fonts, moved the text around, changed the background color a few times and even learned how to add pictures from Google.  The more I experimented with different things, it became fun.  I liked Lucid Press and think I will use it in the future.  The only thing I had a problem with is getting an embed code, so I hope I can figure that out.

Google Forms

I really enjoyed working in Google Docs and creating a Teacher questionnaire. I haven't had any experience with Google forms,  so it was fun to try something different. I think it is a neat feature where every time I updated my questionnaire in Google, it updated it on my blog.  I made a few changes and updates, so it worked out nicely that I didn't have to make a change to my blog .  It was fun experimenting with  the different question types, and the different backgrounds.  I think this a valuable tool for teachers and I will definitely use it in my classroom.

New Experiences with Google Docs and Calendar

I haven't had a lot of experience with Google, except for Gmail.  It has been a lot of fun learning and exploring Google Drive, Calendar, Lucid Press and other Google features.  I thought creating the calendar was going to be too hard to figure out but with great instructions, I was able to put my calendar on the side of my blog and change the size to fit perfectly. I think this is a great feature for teachers or even a school, that wants to keep students up-to-date on what's going on during the month.  After using the calendar and trying different things, I think I will be able to navigate it pretty well.
